Romney tries to posthumously convert Reagan to Romneyism

AMERICAblog -

Romney famously distanced himself from Ronald Reagan during the 1990s:
Romney in 1994: “I was an independent during the time of Reagan-Bush. I’m not trying to return to Reagan-Bush.”Now Romney is bragging via his national communications director that his new tax plan "goes the full Reagan" (which I guess is a reference to the "full Monty," which nowadays means full frontal nudity - brings new meaning to "the gipper").
@EricFehrn Romney tax plan "goes the full Reagan." mi.tt/yn4fhHIt's like Romney is trying to posthumously baptize Ronald Reagan and convert him to Romney-ism.  There is truly nothing Mitt Romney won't say to get elected.

Michael Giltz: DVDs: Some Of The Best (And Worst) Movies Of The Year

Huffington Post -

DVD releases keep coming fast and furious, with this week's batch including some of the best movies put out in 2011...and some of the worst. Ain't that always the way?

2012-02-22-51QIDGW2BTLL.jpeg

TAKE SHELTER ($35.99 BluRay; Sony Pictures Classics) -- One of the best movies of the year stars Michael Shannon as a troubled dad who is either having apocalyptic visions or suffering a mental breakdown -- or both, since apocalyptic visions can be very stressful. It confirms writer and director jeff Nichols as one of the brightest talents in cinema today (he worked with Shannon on the excellent Shotgun Stories) and costars Jessica Chastain in one of her 18 excellent performances in 2011. Not to be missed, from the slow-build beginning to the remarkable finale.

Chris Christie's High Profile, Absence From Mitt Romney Campaign Keep Speculation Alive

Huffington Post -

NEW YORK -- You might say that if New Jersey Gov. Chris Christie wanted to discourage speculation that he'll make a surprise entry into the Republican presidential primary, he could try a little harder.

Christie once again denied Wednesday that he has any intention of joining the race, but admitted that he has been asked to get in by influential Republicans.

“What I say back to them is I’m supporting Mitt Romney and I’m going to do everything I can to make sure he wins the nomination and is going to become president come January 2013,” Christie said on ABC's "Good Morning America." "I don’t know how many times I have to say it. The answer is no."

Anthony Bourdain's Ecco Book Imprint Announces First Titles, Authors

Huffington Post -

Back in September, when it was announced that Anthony Bourdain, star of No Reservations and all-around culinary luminary, was getting his own line of books at Harper-Collins' Ecco, it surprised people in both the food world and in the publishing industry. Today, though, Ecco revealed the first books the new imprint will publish -- and the picks go a long way towards silencing any critics.

The biggest name in the bunch is Roy Choi, a former Food & Wine Best New Chef, of LA's Kogi, Chego and A-Frame. He'll be releasing a memoir-slash-cookbook called Spaghetti Junction: Riding Shotgun with an L.A. Chef.

The other two authors aren't as high-profile, but their offerings are arguably even more in Bourdain's macho style than Choi's. Daniel Vaughn will present Prophets of Smoked Meat, a guide to Texas barbecue legends. And kickboxer Mark Miller will add a memoir, Fight Shark, to the mix.

'Shame' 'Den Of Sin': Fliers Warn Moviegoers About South Carolina Theater Showing Michael Fassbender Indie (VIDEO)

Huffington Post -

An NC-17 rating is often the kiss of death for a movie, but one South Carolina theater is seeing boffo business for "Shame" after fliers that condemn the film started popping up around town. The fliers dub the Nickelodeon theater a "den of shame" and caution people not to see the movie, which features ample sex scenes and full-frontal nudity from lead Michael Fassbender. The 75-seat art-house theater (no relation to the kid-friendly network) has seen business go up since the flier controversy.

Two locals interviewed by WLTX Channel 19 admitted the negative ad, which warns that the film will "offend your sensibilities," only made them want to see the movie more. Since the flier lists the exact address and dates the film is playing and is posted right outside the "den of sin" in question, could it be the Nickelodeon itself is behind the campaign? See the video above and decide for yourself.

Rediscover Seafood: Clams, Mussels, Oysters And More

Huffington Post -

When planning what to cook for dinner, seafood is often overlooked. Chicken takes the spotlight, beef is pretty high up there and even fish is, too. But for some reason, seafood rarely gets considered. It's not for a lack of popularity. Shrimp, scallop and lobster dishes can be found on almost any restaurant menu. And yet, making a simple and satisfying dish of linguine con vongole never crosses our minds. This has got to change; there is so much to discover. The French don't call seafood "fruit de mer" -- literally translated as fruits of the sea -- for no reason!

Bringing seafood into your cooking arsenal will open up an array of new, succulent recipes to enjoy at home. And the best part is, it's entirely affordable. Some items, such as mussels and clams, are even a more economical option than chicken most of the time. Many of these dishes take less than 30 minutes to get on the table, and only call for a handful of ingredients -- relying on the natural flavors of the "fruits of the sea."

Learn how to quickly prepare fresh mussels with this quick tutorial.
